Cape Town - Stellenbosch - Oudtshoorn - Plettenberg Bay - Addo
DAY 01 – Cape Town
Own arrangement to hotel. Day at leisure.
Overnight saty at the Cape Diamond Hotel (or similar)
DAY 02 – Cape Town (B)
After breakfast depart for the Cape Pennisula. Sightseeing to False Bay for a visit to the Boulders Beach Penguin Colony.
Overnight at the Cape Diamond Hotel (or similar).
DAY 03 – Stellenbosch (B)
After breakfast depart for the "Boland" (the Cape Winelands region). Towns that will be visited include Paarl (famous for its "Taalmonument" commemorating the Afrikaans language), Franschhoek (where protestant refugees from France settled in the late 17th century after fleeing religious persecution in France), and Stellenbosch (second oldest European town in South Africa, famous for its Cape Dutch architecture). Wine tastings will be included at two of the region’s best wine estates, offering you the opportunity to taste and buy some of the best of South African wines. Overnight at the Cultivar Guest Lodge (or similar).
DAY 04 – Oudtshoorn (B)
After breakfast drive to Oudtshoorn either via Route 62 (an alternative wine route through the mountains, with various quaint villages, towns and farm stalls along the way, or (between late July and November) via Hermanus to have the opportunity to spot Southern Right Whales from the shore as they come to Walker Bay to give birth to their calves year after year).
Late afternoon arrival at your hotel and guided visit to an ostrich farm after checking in and leaving your luggage in the rooms. Overnight at the Swartberg Country Manor (or similar).
DAY 05 – Oudtshoorn (B)
Morning guided visit to the Cango Caves. Then the rest of day at leisure. Optional activities are available at the lodge. Overnight at the Swartberg Country Manor (or similar).
DAY 06 – Plettenberg Bay (B)
Atfer breakfast continue via the Outeniqua Mountains and George (the unofficial capital of the Garden Route) to Knysna for some leisure time at its waterfront Quays development. After a visit to the famous Knysna Heads, we continue further along the Garden Route towards Plettenberg Bay, South Africa's number one seaside destination, outside of where our abode for the night awaits. Overnight at Forest Lake Guest Lodge (or similar).
DAY 07 – Plettenberg Bay (B)
Day at leisure to enjoy Plettenberg Bay, its beach or other optional activities offered in the region, including things as diverse as boat excursions to see dolphins or even whales (in season), township tours and treetop canopy tours.
For those wishing to do a relaxing and inexpensive activity, our guide could drop you at the Robberg Nature Reserve to do walks there for part of the day. Overnight at Forest Lake Guest Lodge (or similar).
DAY 08 - Addo (B)
Morning visit to the Tsitsikamma Reserve, where you have the option of venturing into indigenous forest by taking any of a number of short walking trails, e.g. one to the mouth of the Storms River.
Late morning, early afternoon our journey continues towards Port Elizabeth and, after a very short orientation tour through the "Friendly City", forming part of the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan Area, we continue to our camp inside the Addo Elephant National Park. Overnight at the Addo main Camp or similar.
DAY 09 - Addo (B)
After breakfast. Day at leisure.
End of service.
